Privacy Policy

Effective date: 11 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Meikyō app for Android. It is written in plain English so you can see exactly what the app does.

1. Who we are

Meikyō is developed by RICloud. If you have any question about privacy, you can contact us at ricloud4717@gmail.com.

In this policy, "we" and "us" mean RICloud, and "the app" means Meikyō.

2. Information stored on your device

Meikyō does not require an account, and it does not send your quiz activity to us. The following information is stored locally on your device only, and we never receive it:

This information stays on your device unless you choose to export it or share it yourself.

3. Export and import

You can export your app data to a file you choose, and import that file on another device. The export happens only when you start it, and you decide where the file is saved. We never receive that file, and we have no access to it.

4. Notifications

The app can send one daily reminder about the featured quiz and your streak. It is generated on your device, not sent from a server, and it does not report anything back to us. You can turn it off at any time in the app's Settings, or in your phone's system settings for Meikyō.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, AdMob may collect and use data such as:

Google uses this data to serve and personalize ads, to measure ad performance, for analytics about how ads and the app are used, and to prevent fraud and abuse. Google acts as an independent party for this activity, and its handling of the data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your Android settings, usually under Settings, then Privacy, then Ads. Resetting the ID stops past ad activity from being linked to a new one, and deleting it limits personalized ads.

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for, store and change your ad choices. Your choice is stored on your device and passed to Google with ad requests.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. The first time you open the app, a Google consent message asks whether ads may use your data for personalized ads and related purposes. You can accept, decline (choose "Do not consent"), or manage individual purposes. If you decline, the app still shows ads, but they are not personalized, and Google may still process limited data to serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, as described in Google's policy.

United States. If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Texas), using ad data for targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under that law. You can opt out at any time in the app's Settings > Privacy choices, where the app offers it. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, as described in section 5.

You can change or withdraw any of these choices at any time in Settings > Privacy choices. This option appears wherever the law requires it. Changing your choice does not affect ads processed before the change.

7. In-app purchases

If the app offers in-app purchases, they are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google's handling of a purchase is covered by the Google Play Terms of Service.

8. Feedback and ratings

If you tap "Send feedback" in Settings, your email app opens a message to us with your app version, phone model and Android version filled in. You can read and edit it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send it. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever the message contains, and we use it only to reply and to improve the app. We delete feedback emails when they are no longer needed, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

"Rate Meikyō" opens the app's Google Play page. Ratings and reviews you leave there are handled by Google Play under Google's own policies.

9. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, please contact us at ricloud4717@gmail.com so we can help.

10. Data retention and deletion

Because your app data lives on your device, it stays there until you remove it. You can:

For ad related data held by Google, please use Google's own controls, including your Android advertising ID settings and the Google policy linked above.

11. Security

Your app data is stored in the app's private storage on your device, an area other apps cannot read under normal Android conditions. Keeping your device updated, and protecting it with a screen lock, is the best way to protect that data.

12. Your rights

We do not hold your personal data on any server, so most requests are handled directly by the controls inside the app: Settings, Privacy choices, the export feature and "Delete all my data". For ad related data, Google is the party that holds it, and Google's policy explains how to exercise your choices with Google. For anything else, including feedback emails you sent us, contact us at ricloud4717@gmail.com. We reply within one month, or within 45 days where a US state law sets that period.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Swiss data protection law, you have the right to:

Personalized ads are based on your consent. Non-personalized ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention rely on legitimate interests in funding a free app and keeping ads safe. Data used for ads may be processed by Google outside your country, under the safeguards described in Google's policy.

United States

Depending on your state (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Texas), you may have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of ad related sharing, use Settings > Privacy choices or reset your advertising ID. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and if the appeal is denied you may contact your state attorney general.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Please check back from time to time, especially after an app update.
